Chaos ensues

Below are just a few examples of what many of you are experiencing:
• A candidate originally booked for 30/7 received an email to rearrange but given no choice of appointment just a date and time for the next day! No notice or time to prepare.
• Candidates with original appointments in April are still waiting to be rearranged.
• I now have 5 out of 6 tests rescheduled but the first one cancelled on March 25th has heard nothing, what is going on?
• A candidate whose test date was June 9th has received nothing that is available at the test centre he wants to use, only test centres some distance away and only 3 days notice, he won’t be ready for that, it’s hardly a great service for the candidate.
Meanwhile 2 other pupils who were booked for April originally haven’t heard anything as yet.
One recent quote from an email sent out from DVSA states:
“Over 210,000 driving tests were put on hold due to coronavirus. So far, we’ve invited over 146,000 people to choose a new appointment.” Invited over 146,000 is very different to those actually being booked, how many have been accepted?
These are the type of questions we try to help with on a daily basis and we all need more information on what is happening please. “DVSA” Information and communication with us is vital for our work. Be honest with us and with the candidates waiting for tests it is better than not knowing what is happening even if it is not always what we want to hear.
My PRN / ADI number is 222461 if that helps, just keep trying, please do not take anything offered, like Kings Heath test centre? Redditch is where we have trained, you know many of the roads and test routes, we must plan for a positive outcome. Make sure you have enough time to get ready for the test, so you can polish up on any weaknesses. Confirm with me ASAP - if necessary call me.
For a short period I will be asking students to find a safe place to pull up on the left so that I can take calls to confirm a test dates, so if my mobile rings be ready to find a safe place.
I can only apologise for the poor service the DVSA continue to offer us all..
Derek
