With the App market introducing more and more Apps that search for a cancellations / new test dates, please consider before moving or excepting a new date the following..
I could work 24/7 doing intensive courses, which were previously known as ‘crash courses‘ the wording gives a clue as to the training provided and the probable outcome, even ‘IF’ you pass the test, which is not unknown.. Pick a subject at school and see if you would be tests ready in three weeks with two / four hours tuition per week?
When considering moving your test date please speak with your parents first.. I know you have all been waiting for many months and Cd~19 has disrupted all our lives and many tests have been cancelled and rearranged many times.. However, you must approach this with some thought, have you reached the standard required with both your and my marking showing 4 or 5 stars on every topic? Have you passed at least 3 ‘Mock Test’ with a few minors, no serious or dangerous errors, can you drive for 1 hour without making any serious or dangerous errors wherby the instructor has to intervene? Verbally or physically?
My pass rate post the lockdown was 100% my pass rate now is decimated, down to 33% 😡 the only common denominator is the rush to pass the test..
It is extremely important to me on both a personal and professional level that you pass your driving test, this has to be balanced with not wanting to ‘go for it’ when you are clearly NOT ready..
Some of my pupils are booking test dates in say August, which is absolutely achievable 👍 However, they then inform me that they have ‘two‘ holidays booked and will be unavailable for any lessons??? Thats three / four weeks of zero training, I would not have agreed that time frame if I knew you were going to miss that amount of driving time, and no you cannot just book an extra lesson or two when you get back, it very rarely pays off, its rushed..
A FAIL only frustrates you and me, dents your confidence and has a financial impact on you and or your family’s disposable income.. This is not about me giving you lessons beyond the time you are ready, as you all know I encourage you to have ‘Private Practice‘ at every opportunity, very few instructors do this.
If you are learning to speak French and I arrange a trip to France next week and give you a book to read on the ferry, could you speak the language fluently when you arrive.. You CANNOT rush these things, I’m teaching you to drive safely for the rest of your lives, NOT to pass a 40 minute test..
If you are involved in a serious accident the ramifications for you, your loved ones and everyone around you can potentially be devastating, I’m sure you have all seen the flowers in and around Redditch decorating trees where someone has made a life changing decision..
All I’m asking is that you consider the wider picture and not jump at the date offered UNLESS you are READY for the DVSA Practical test..
